Ingredients
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) canola oil
- ½ cup (125 mL) chopped onion
- ½ cup (125 mL) chopped green bell pepper
- ½ lb. (250 g) lean turkey breast
- ½ cup (125 mL) tomato sauce
- ½ tsp. (2 mL) brown sugar
- ¼ cup (50 mL) ketchup
- ½ tsp. (2 mL) red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) wine vinegar
Directions
- In a large skillet, heat oil and sauté onion and bell pepper until translucent. Add the turkey and cook about 6 minutes.
- Add the tomato sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, pepper flakes, vinegar and mix well. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve on buns.
