JAMES HUYSMAN, Psy.D., LCSW, CAP
Co-Founder & Executive Director, The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation
Member of the Home Instead Senior Care Advisory Board
James Huysman, Psy.D, is a board-certified clinical social worker. He understands that it is often difficult for family caregivers to reach out for help or to find resources, so he has taken his experience and partnered with Leeza Gibbons, one of this country's most prominent family caregivers, and created Leeza's Place. As part of the The Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, of which he is executive director and co-founder, Leeza's Place was created to meet the growing needs of those recently diagnosed with a memory disorder, as well as their families. The non-profit organization has partnered with Home Instead Senior Care this year to help support family caregivers and the opening of additional Leeza's Place facilities throughout the United States.
Dr. Huysman believes that a caregiver's stressful challenges, if met with innovation, can be effectively transformed into education, empowerment and energy for their life journeys. His philosophy is that the human spirit is resilient, powerful and dynamic. Change is imminently possible on a mental, medical, and spiritual basis, and his philosophy is reflected in the caregiver programs found at Leeza's Places around the country.

PAUL HOGAN
Eldercare Expert
Founder & President, Home Instead Senior Care
Paul Hogan and his wife, Lori, founded Home Instead Senior Care in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1994. It was from his own family experience with caring for his grandmother at home for 12 years that helped him realize that there was a need for non-medical eldercare and companionship services to help seniors to continue to live independently at home. This service would also provide overtaxed, stressed family caregivers with a professional resource to turn to. A little more than a decade later, there are more than 500 Home Instead Senior Care Offices in the United States and Canada, with international expansion into Japan, Portugal, Ireland and Australia. The senior care and companionship industry is expected to grow exponentially, as the boomers reach their retirement years.
