Is there a support network for adult children who are grieving the loss of a parent to dementia or Alzheimer's?

Question:  Is there a support network for adult children who are grieving the loss of a parent to dementia or Alzheimer's? I can't find anything in my city in Nebraska. Thank you.

Dr. Amy:   The loss of a parent is one of life’s major losses. Grief counselling can be a tremendous support. Hospice care centers are an excellent source of information about the resources available in your community. The Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association should be able to refer you to the type of support you are looking for. You can visit them at nehospice.org. The organization Children of Aging Parents (caps4caregivers.org) can also provide you with reliable information, referrals and support.
